In continuation of a years-long effort, VillageCo and VillageSeattle are working to root down into the Central District neighborhood of Seattle.
Project Summary
We aim to foster a self-sustaining micro-community of neighbors who gather regularly using Village tools & support.
Why Central District?
We have a number of members of Village Seattle who live near that part of town and have offered to help lead the effort.
What part of Central District?
We have chosen Garfield Community Center as the flag-post for this Village effort. Anyone who lives near that center, or feels a connection to the people in that area are most welcome!
What does Rooting Down mean?
Since 2019, Village Seattle has been gathering as a city-wide community. We have developed a wonderful gathering model which we are now taking to local communities. In rooting down, we are growing by helping create new small communities at the local level.
